For over twenty years, I have developed and implemented programs and materials designed to assist schools improve the quality of education through service learning. Administrators and teachers want to know how service learning works to achieve their identified content and skill objectives. Young people want their efforts to have meaning and purpose, and they are eager to learn about their diverse world. Critical to successful programs is making plans that reflect the school mission and improvement strategies, as well as establishing partnerships with parents and community agencies.

In colleges and universities, faculty in schools of education as well as in other disciplines are exploring the value of service learning. This has been another arena where I continuously examine ways to infuse service learning into meaningful educational opportunities. Through staff development, state-wide and national institutes and conferences, and as mentor for specific programs, I enjoy the creative thinking and development achieved in schools of higher education.

In all workshops settings, service learning links to literature and current issues relevant to local educational concerns are addressed. Whether delivering a keynote, meeting with small groups of teachers to develop specific curriculum approaches, or presenting to a gathering of faculty members, students or parents, my style is personal, interactive and custom designed to meet your needs.
